More than half of children have had an ‘unwanted experience’ on the net

More than half of children using the internet have had an “unwanted experience” online as the trend of using social networking sites increases, according to a new poll. The survey for the NSPCC found 50.4% of children had such an experience, which could mean anything from being bullied or threatened to being asked to perform sexual acts.

Japan boy ’severs mother’s head’

A teenage Japanese boy has walked into a police station carrying a severed human head and claiming to have killed his mother.
The 17-year-old went to a police station in the town of Aizuwakamatsu, north of Tokyo, carrying the head in a sports bag, Japanese media said.
